     #  Nações querem tomate e morango mais saudáveis 

 Um grupo de 189 nações concordou em cortar o uso, a partir de janeiro de 2006, de pesticidas, como o metilbrometo ou brometo de metila, utilizado para esterilizar o solo e estimular o crescimento de tomate e morango. Além de danificar a camada de ozônio, o produto químico é classificado como altamente tóxico, podendo causar também sérios danos à saúde. No entanto, Everardo de Carvalho Filho, da Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa), que coordenou, em 2002, um estudo do curso de Medicina da Universidade São Francisco (USF), em parceria com a Coordenadoria de Assistência Técnica Integral (Cati/Bragança), informa que o preparo dos profissionais da medicina para diagnosticar intoxicações por agrotóxicos é deficiente.
